Transformation and Change a New Life:
Learning Styles and Learning Theories
Introduction
In learning we explore, whether instructional or learning new things we engage our minds to a broader perspective. In our planning using time management and motivation, you begin to visualize your goals and plan. In life our paths sometimes may not lead us to the destination as we planned, but yet we go through this as a transformational change, when faced with issues in life such as thinking of a career change, deciding to take a class, new relationship or start a business we enter in to learning cycles we go through many challenges and maybe even fears.
Transformation
In many cases these changes are renewing and its outcome can be farfetched because of the depth of its outcome this type of learning experience is called transformational, it adds a new value into your life. In reality in these changes we encounter the cycles and move through transformations, recognizing specific problems confronting them intensely, finding a solution and then creating a new perspective of new ideas and opportunities in to your life. In this process it can be a reflection process can sometimes be painful and can be overwhelming.
Transformation Part II
Before and after realities are important parts of the transformation cycle in 1991 “(Jack Mezirow)” conducted a research on adults in transformational change and identified seven phases that typically occur, and the challenges in the learning process and they included : experiencing a dilemma, self-examination, critical assessment of assumptions, realizing that there are others have gone through a similar process, exploring a process and taking a plan of action.
What Do You Think?
Have experienced a transformational change in your life?
Which phase out of the seven phases do you relate mostly?
Is there an upcoming event in your life that requires transformation?
Core values
In the times of Plato people have be conscious of the importance of personal values. In his teaching he observed that the “ unexamined life is not worth living, I feel that if you’re not willing to step outside the box and take risk you can never move forward, wondering and singing the song I wish I could a would a song. Today defining personal value as a quality or personal value that one considers inwardly meaningful in ones life. Values are developed through life experiences and become clearer as we are faced with life challenges and times of crisis were ownership has to be taken and immediate actions are made. Even when we are not faced with upfront dilemma we should reflect and identify attributes and outline priorities, from that list you can set and see your goals.

What Autism Means to Me :
What is Autism to Me?
Autism to me is a number of things a learning experience that has truly taught me the value of not caring what others think, when you’re out
with your c children and they begin to get busy, sometimes you see others either just ignore you or some may stare, for those you just have to
realize that they may be just misinformed on what they are seeing. Many children and adults don’t lack mental capabilities but lack social skills
and you better trust and believe people with autism understand most of what’s taking place in their surroundings ( for my son he knows very well
and will act upon it and use it to his advantage) .
The current statistics show that autism affects 1 out of every 150 children and growing. Is this a conspiracy? Is this and epidemic? That topic
can be discussed later for now let’s focus on t he rise of children being affected and how it has taken hold over families across America. In my
household autism is the truth and the light we forget as we become adults the worries the cares the expectations that we have for ourselves and
our children and how we view the world and our society today with various disorders to go around two or three times.
The History of autism I have read that the term autism has been around for 100 hundred years and they have broken down the term auto
into autism meaning one’s self hence how autism is affected in the social area of development although they tend to act differently in this area
they certain don’t lack mental knowledge. “Eugen Bleuler was a Swiss psychiatrist first coined the term autism he started to refer to a group back
in 1914 of individuals that display schizophrenia” Where does that leave us? I began to learn about autism in 2005 that equals to 111 years of
progress and they still betray autism and research like it’s something new. As a child growing up of course you heard of the handicapped, and
different types of mental disorders and the most common one you hear about is ADHD where was autism?, kept under the rug I presume. In the
1940’s has researchers and doctors began to look further in the United States a Doctor by the name of Hans Asperger and about the same time
another Dr. who studied at John Hopkins University began to study a group of children that had problems with social development. In the 1960’s
and 70’s what appeared to be brutal treatments and some behavior techniques were introduced. Finally in the 1980’s and on the treatment s
involving therapy base and controlled learning environments became a new look for autism.
Still a long road ahead, even with the research that has been ongoing since the 1900’s and the misinformed link to schizophrenia and autism
is very disturbing. Autism symptoms can vary from hand and arm, flapping, lack of communication and social interaction, sensory perceptions of
items and their environment, and social interactions the most common is language which I have watched my daughter’s carefully and ( they are
doing well) Thank God because it is very hard and costly to raise a special needs child . Today autism and related disorders have been clustered
into one PDD Pervasive Development Disorder there is still much work to be done. Lastly autism means that the way you view the world is
definitely unlike a child with autism they do not care what people think o them ( my son is happy, he , smiles, plays with his sisters and loves to
watch movies like a typical “normal kid” “ I am autism I don’t care what others think of me.”

*Parent’s* emotional effects of Autism
*Parent’s* emotional effects of Autism
The emotional effects of autism:
I would like to share with you on today the outlines of the emotional effects of autism. Research and case studies have shown extreme stress of
families with children with autism. Mothers may become distant, not able to enjoy their children in regular social settings, they often have poor
diet with the care of the child of autism and having additional children it ca be very over whelming not least of the family worries are providing
and having a income as raising a child with autism or a child that is battling cancer etc. As a parent of a child myself I have many experience
myself. I have found for some families and even single ts do not know how to reach out to seek help fear of not being understood.
1. What are your views on the topic?
2. Do you know any families of children in the case study?
3. Have we been wrong about the diagnosis of autism?
4. Does income really matter?
5.Are there any current changes in your area being made to better support families with children on the spectrum?
I really would appreciate your feed back and value your opinions,as a reminder, please use courteous and respectful language as we all have
different opinions there are not right or wrong view points.
Thank you again,

Everything I needed
An Inspirational Poem
Everything I Needed
Poet Unknown
I asked for strength and
God gave me difficulties to make me strong.
I asked for wisdom and
God gave me problems to solve.
I asked for prosperity and
God gave me brawn and brains to work.
I asked for courage and
God gave me dangers to overcome.
I asked for patience and
God placed me in situations where I was forced to wait.
I asked for love and
God gave me troubled people to help.
I asked for favors and
God gave me opportunities.
I received nothing I wanted
I received everything I needed.
My prayers have all been answered.
